Re-opening Bar and Catering Facilities
Ardglass Golf Club is delighted to be able to re-open the hospitality facilities in line with the NI Executive’s Exit Plan.
Please follow this link to guidelines Revision 3 when visiting the Club for a meal or drink.
20th to 22nd July – bar open 12:30 – 3:30 pm full bar and soup, sandwiched and tray bakes available.
We have now moved to Step 3 of the GUI/ILGU protocol for Northern Ireland which we all have to strictly follow, including social distancing and no contact with other players or their equipment.
There are course issues that are pertinent to Ardglass Golf Club.
These are as follows:
1 – Arrive no more than 15 minutes before your tee off time, unless you are planning on using the bar or restaurant facilities before your round.
2 – Park allowing for social distancing
3 – The Putting Green is now open with holes (inverted cups). Social distancing must be practiced at all times.
4 – You must be at the designated waiting area 5 minutes before your allotted tee time. If you are not using the bar, restaurant facilities or putting green you must remain in your car until you move to the waiting area.
5- Wait here until all players in the group in front have left the 1st tee before leaving this area.
6 – Play will be over 18 holes, 12 minute intervals in July and then moving to 10 minutes in August, in groups up to 4 golfers.
– From Saturday June 20th. 2020, men’s club competition golf will be from the white tees.
– Men’s senior competitions, shop sweeps and casual golf will continue to be played from the green tees.
– Juniors may play only if they are accompanied by an adult.
7 – From Saturday June 13th, 2020 all bunkers will be in play with a local rule allowing for preferred lies.
8 – In non competition golf there should be no unnecessary delay in searching for a golf ball. Drop another ball under a two stroke penalty at the point of entry. Do not go back to play another ball. Remember you have only three minutes in which to find your ball, not five! Want to know how quickly three minutes goes by? Well here is a link to – Queen – “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” that is 2m 54s in length. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zO6D_BAuYCI
9 – When your round has been completed leave the course by way of the top gate.
10 – The bar and restaurant facilities are open in the Club with additional guidelines at the top of this page.
11 – Exercise social distancing at all times.
Here is the link to the short video – “Ardglass Returns to Golf”. It demonstrates the various return to golf and social distancing protocols and how the “putt buddy” must be used. – https://youtu.be/pZF7wqZ4FE0
There will be further general information issued e.g booking on line, use of sanitisers etc.
The situation is fluid and will be continually monitored. Any changes to the above will be in line with the Executive’s plan for moving out of lockdown and in accordance with the GUI/ILGU Protocol
