“To my American counterparts, do not go all the way to Northern Ireland to play Royal County Down and then miss the opportunity of playing Ardglass.
To help you relate, think of the Bar Harbor or the Big Sur coastline and put the first six holes of golf immediately above it.
From there the course opens up some but you will never lose sight of the sea and you will be challenged and really hope that they are more than the usual 18 holes.
I am sure that the view of the world’s oldest clubhouse, the town of Ardglass and the sea from the 18 tee box will remain with you forever.
More importantly, at least to us, was the warm welcome in the clubhouse after the conclusion of the round. The pint was cool and refreshing and the members friendlier than my first cousins.”
